The Getty Center (July 7, 2007) : These pictures were taken as part of the Photography class I took at UCLA Extension. The Getty Center was the 2nd of three class field trips to take pictures. It was my first trip to the Getty Center, and I was very excited. However, I was too tired from working the night before, so I didn't stay very long. I did wander through two of the exhibit halls, one focusing on Photography and the other about Oudry's Painted Menagerie.

Our assignment today was to play with depth of field and to take pictures that convey a word or emotion. I was too busy not paying attention so a lot of my pictures did not meet the professor's criteria. However, I was able to do some quick thinking and came up with a couple when it was my turn to share.

Union Station (July 14, 2007) : These pictures were taken on our 3rd and last field trip of the quarter. Our class assignment was to compose a photographic essay that supported a central theme.

My theme was the clash of old and new at Union Station. My professor didn't really offer me much in terms of suggestions or critique. He was too busy being hit on by one of the students trying to show off his vast array of camera equipment. See if you can find him in my pictures!
