Georgetown (July 3, 2009) : On a warm and overcast July day, I took the Metro into D.C. and hiked west toward the historic city of Georgetown. I walked along Pennsylvania Avenue to M Street and eventually made it onto the Georgetown campus. Afterward, I took some photos of people enjoying the Potomac River and getting ready for the next day's 4th of July festival.

National Cherry Blossom Festival (April 4, 2009)

Tidal Basin and Potomac Park (March 27, 2009) : I got a head start on the National Cherry Blossom Festival a few days before it opened. The weather was overcast and hazy, which made for very dull looking pictures. However, the sights I was able to see and places I visited were still very beautiful and worthwhile. I started at George Washington University, and headed south around the Tidal Basin, and circled East Potomac Park. Potomac Park has unparalleled views of the Potomac as well as Virgina, Maryland, and Southeastern Washington.

Monuments and Federal Triangle (March 22, 2009) : On a rare, sunny 60 degree day, I took the Metro into the District to check and see if any cherry blossoms are out. Most of the older cherry trees were not in full bloom, but many other younger trees were. Highlights of the day include the Lincoln Memorial, the White House, Ford's Theater, "4th Street and D", and a statue wearing an adult diaper on his head. It was a good day!
