I got a head start on the National Cherry Blossom Festival a few days before it opened. The weather was overcast and hazy, which made for very dull looking pictures. However, the sights I was able to see and places I visited were still very beautiful and worthwhile. I started at George Washington University, and headed south around the Tidal Basin, and circled East Potomac Park. Potomac Park has unparalleled views of the Potomac as well as Virgina, Maryland, and Southeastern Washington.

BillyBob > I've seen this truck many times during this trip to D.C. I'm guessing it's doing local camera views for a mapping application that Microsoft has for Windows Live. This is the second time I might have been photographed. If you see an Asian guy in D.C., wearing red, and carrying a camera, it's probably me.
BillyBob > Leaving the Watergate complex, I head southeast along Virginia Avenue, NW. Traveling along any of the state-named avenues, you will generally head in the direction of a square, plaza, traffic circle or monument.
