National Museum of Natural History (August 14, 2005) : On one of my trips to D.C. in 2005, I visited the National Museum of Natural History. A comprehensive collection of fossils and displays showing life from pre-historic to modern times. In addition, the National Gem Collection is housed here and includes the famous Hope Diamond.

National American History Museum (May 23, 2006) : One of the largest Smithsonian museums, this facility features extensive exhibits that shows all aspects of life in America from colonial to modern times. I had to come back on two separate occasions to tray and see the whole museum, and even then I had to skip some of the exhibits. This facility is closed until Summer 2008 for renovations.
